We’ve made it easier for you to choose a computer and internet package designed to support learning at home – and help to keep your family safer online.
So what makes them different?
All Home Access packages are pre-loaded with:

- a suite of Assistive Technology software designed to improve literacy and make it easier for learners to record and present ideas
- office productivity applications which allow learners to create and edit documents, spreadsheets and much more
- pre-set parental controls to help keep children safer online. This means unsuitable content is blocked from the first time you turn it on
anti-virus software and firewall
To ensure that families are provided with the support they need, all Home Access packages come with:
- one years technical support including a local rate phone number
- manufacturers warranty in the event of a fault
- re-instatement service so you’re covered if the device breaks or is stolen
Your choice of package
Depending on what you need, the Home Access Grant allows you to buy one of three packages. Whether you require a full package or already have a computer at home and need the internet then you can just buy the bits you need.
Choose from:
1. Full package (a computer, one year’s internet access, service and support)
2. A computer only (including service and support)
3. One year’s internet access
Once you have decided what package you need and have received your Grant Card then any of the approved suppliers will be able to give you help and advice on what’s right for you.
Assistive Technology
Additional support for children/young people with special educational needs or disabilities.
All devices are pre-loaded with a suite of Assistive Technology software that helps learners with their reading, writing and literacy skills. However, this may not be enough for some learners and they may need to apply for additional support.
There are two different Assistive Technology packages available, depending on the requirements of the individual:
Assistive Technology package 1 – designed for children who experience physical barriers
Assistive Technology package 2 – developed to meet the individual child’s specific needs
If your child needs additional support please identify this on the application form.
